In Bloom

The weather has finally decided that it’s autumn and working rom home with the rain outside has had us craving some sunshine. Luckily that’s what our new collection of wrapping papers delivers! Gorgeous blooms in pastels but spiced up with luscious autumn tones as well as our new shot papers in fashion colours of rose and brickwork shot with gold. Our best selling pohutukawa print has also been reimagined in new shades of blush with white and  silver with white. The new collection is perfect for upcoming Mother’s Day or for bringing a smile to someone during these unprecedented times. We are looking forward to sending these beauties out once we can re-open again after lockdown – view the range here.

How We Wrap

We often get asked how we wrap our presents for photo shoots and how you can apply this to your own gifting. We have the luxury of a showroom of ribbons and trims to work with and can test multiple ribbons to get the perfect look. Our advice with home or store wrapping is to think about the “look” you’d like to achieve. Minimalist or maximalist wrapping work best rather than a middle ground: think simple rustic string on a bold paper or multiple ribbons in different hues to brighten a plain wrap. Using the same colour in different textures can make a strong impact as well. Adding a accent band or narrow roll of contrasting or tonal wrapping paper can take your wrapping to the next level and allows your rbbons and trims to shine.

Some tricks of the trade for photography include:

  • Make sure you don’t have too much wrapping paper overhanging when you wrap your present so you get a smooth wrap with sharp corners.
  • We often use double layers of organza ribbon to allow the colour to pop.
  • When wrapping a dark print paper use our narrow plain paper ribbon behind you ribbon to stop the print showing through.
